Function and Philosophy
The Seraphim Choir is the highest and most magnificent of the nine accepted Angelic choirs. Without question they are the closest in all of heaven to the very throne of God, and their primary function is to circle the incomprehensibly beautiful throne in perpetual adoration of the Lord. This is a task that is not nearly as monotonous as it may seem to mortals, given the nature of the angels (who have perfect powers of concentration) and the delight that such an honour actually brings to the spirits.
The Seraphim are almost always identified with fire-not the burning, painful flames and heat of hell, but the healing flame of Love. They are literally living flames. The intensity of their adoration and pure Love of God pure out of them as a flawless reflection of the divine Love that emanates from the Lord. Like the rising sun, each angel radiates such light that even the other holy beings, the cherubim and the thrones, cannot look upon them.
Characteristics
According to Enoch, each Seraphim has six wings. In the Old Testament Book of Isaiah (6:1-3) he writes "...I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple. Above him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew." In the Book of Revelation (4:8) is another possible reference: "And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to sing 'Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty who was and is and is to come!"

Seraphiel - The Seraphim, who ranks the highest amidst the princes as one of the thrones of judgement. He presides over the planet Mercury, a regent of Tuesday who is invoked in the North. It is said his entire body is covered with stars and his entire body sends forth light; from his the top of his head to his neck he emanates the infinite light, from his neck to his waist the light of the Sun, from waist to his thighs the light of the Moon, from his thighs to his knees the light of the morning star, from his knees to his feet light of firmament.
Gabriel - This archangel is a primary messenger of God, bringing divine announcements and revelations to humankind. Acting as an intermediary between heaven and earth, he helps us to interpret our dreams and our visions. Gabriel grants wishes and hopes to mortals, as well as joy, mercy, understanding of mysteries, truth, justice, miracles and love. His name means "hero of God" and he is the angel of resurrection. Essene prayer: "Gabriel, Angel of Life, enter my limbs and give strength to my whole body". He also presides over the Moon, those born under the sun sign of Aquarius, in the month of January, and those born on a Monday.
Michael - The angel of protection. Michael also oversees those who were born on Sunday and the Sun. An archangel, who grants miracles, fosters mercy, repentance, truth, sanctification, blessing, immortality, patience and love to human-kind. This archangel is protective of those who are just and good. He strengthens our spirits in difficult times. Pray to Michael for these gifts and virtues. Essene prayer: "Michael, Angel of Earth, enter my generative organs and regenerate my whole body". He is also the angel of Armed Forces.
Metatron - - He is charged with the sustenance of mankind. He has been known as the link between the human and the divine. The angel who wrestled with Jacob. (Genesis 32); As the watchman (Isaiah 20); Exodus 23:20 for this refers to Metratron as well. Metatron, according to the cabala is the angel said to have lead the children of Israel through the wilderness. His female equivalent is Shekinah. His twin brother is Sandalphon. Uriel - A patron angel of literature and music, he also is the angel of peace, salvation, transformation, and ministration. His name translated means "God's fire". Uriel bestows upon us the gift of creative fire, as well as the power of prophecy and presides over the planet Mars. We appeal to him for foresight into the future and for help in developing our psychic abilities. Uriel is the regent of the Sun, the flame of God and presides over Hades and those us born under the sun sign Libra or born in the month of September. If you are a Libra or born in September you can pray to Uriel for special protection and bright blessings.
Nathanael - Nathanael is a ruling angel of elemental Fire and the sixth angel created by God, in order of appearance (as all angels were created at the same time). He is also one of the 12 angels of vengeance.
Jael - One of the twin Cherubim on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant, the other cherub being Zarall. Jael is an angel governing the sign of Libra. Jael is the first name of Metatron and the angel who gave Adam and Eve a seventh of paradise on earth.
Satan - Before he fell from God's grace. His other names are Lucifer, Rabbinic (Hebrew meaning 'the ugly one'), Beelzebub (from Latin. In Greek it's Beelzeboul, meaning 'the devil' {Matthew 12:24}. In Hebrew, Baalzebub, meaning 'lord of the flies', which was also the name of one of the Philistine Gods {2 Kings 1:2}), and Lucifer, which is odd as this name is Old English meaning 'light-bringing' or 'morning star').
